As fifteen games are on the board, the MLB is set up using a busy night. One will be between the New York Mets and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Both of these teams continue to be in competition for a wild card place, which should help lead to an exciting game on Tuesday night. This game will start at around 7:10 PM Eastern time.
The Diamondbacks have made a listing of 75-69, that includes them sitting in position of the NL West. Arizona has won eleven of their two matches down the stretch. When the Diamondbacks could continue to keep up this strong series, then they can make the playoffs. Arizona is just two games back in the last wild card spot, but can advance with a few big road wins in this sequence.
New York has gone 73-70 during this year, which has them. If they would like to sneak to a wild card spot, the Mets have won six of their past ten matches but will have to pick up this. New York is sitting and a half matches in the wild card spot. The Mets will appear to win the second game of this show on Tuesday.
Both of these teams have had solid seasons and are in positions to make a playoff push in this year. Both groups have a bit of urgency as the year gets closer and closer towards the finish. I expect a matchup as both teams look to acquire this show to move a step closer to earning that final wild card spot.
The series between both of these groups was back between May 31 and June 2. The first game was a close one. J.D. Davis and Carlos Gomez both had RBI’s in the top of the eighth to give New York the late direct. Zach Wheeler got the win as he allowed seven hits and four runs as the Mets won 5-4.
The next game was another one. The Diamondbacks located themselves down 5-1 entering the base of the inning. Ketel Marte and Eduardo Escobar both had RBI’s to close in around the Mets. Adam Jones hit a two run homer to tie this up. Tim Locastro hit on off a walk RBI in the inning to give Arizona a large 6-5 win.
The final and next game of the series was not quite as near as the two. Ketel Marte had three RBI’s and a home run in his first. Eduardo Escobar struck a two run homer to help prolong the guide to the Diamondbacks. Merrill Kelly got the win on the mound as Arizona finished the show with a 7-1 triumph because he allowed one run and six hits through seven and two thirds innings.
The series’ first game was on Monday night. Pete Alonso struck a homer to open the game up in the first inning. Alonso iced the match at the fifth inning with his second homer of the night, although wilmer Flores hit a homer to make it a game. Jacob deGrom pitched for eight innings and only allowed three hits and one run to help give the Mets a 3-1 win.
Ketel Marte has experienced a solid season for the Diamondbacks this year. Marte has made 32 home runs, 178 hits and 91 RBI’s. Eduardo Escobar has set up 33 homers, 153 hits and 110 RBI’s. Nick Ahmed includes 130 strikes, 18 homers and 79 RBI’s, although Christian Walker has 123 hits, and 63 RBI’s run. Adam Jones and Carson Kelly equally have over homers this season as well.
New York has witnessed an wonderful year from Pete Alonso. He’s 142 strikes, 47 home runs, 109 RBI’s and an OPS of all .956. While Jeff McNeil includes 147 hits, 18 home runs and 65 RBI’s, amed Rosario has 158 hits, 12 homers and 60 RBI’s. Michael Conforto has set up 127 strikes, 29 home runs and 81 RBI’s. Wilson Ramos, J.D. Davis, Todd Frazier, along with Robinson Cano have double digit homers also this year.
I believe the Mets have a slightly better lineup, although Both of these teams have hitting lineups. Alonso has been dangerous this year and it showed in previous nights matchup. ” I think that they may pull off a huge triumph if Arizona’s pitching team can get a way to slow Alonso down Tuesday night.
Zac Gallen will start on Tuesday night. Gallen has set a listing up through 13 starts this season. He has made an ERA of 2.50 and a WHIP of both 1.229 through those starts. Gallen’s last start came against the San Diego Padres, where he allowed no runs and one hit through seven innings to earn his third win of the season.
Zack Wheeler are the starting pitcher for New York. Wheeler has gone. He’s put a 4.33 ERA and a WHIP of 1.311. Wheeler’s last start came from the Washington Nationals. He made his tenth win of this season as he allowed one run and seven hits through five innings.
Both of these pitchers have been strong this season. Gallen has put the better stats, but he has played half the matches as Wheeler. Wheeler has a solid record and earned a win. Gallen had a no decision in his start.
These two teams have gone 2-2 against each other in the summer series. Both teams are much less than five matches back from the last wild card spot. I believe that Arizona has a good chance to take the series lead with a win on Tuesday night. Gallen is a pitcher and I like his chances to slow New York. The Diamondbacks need to get the bats going, but I believe they will win the next match of the sequence, when they could.
BetOnline has New York listed as a -130 against the money line. This suggests that the Mets will win this match around 56.5% of their time. I feel this game needs to be a lot closer to . I love the Diamondbacks opportunities to win, making them a powerful pick for Tuesday night.
