Liverpool warn supporters in Naples to be ‘vigilant’ over fears of violence from Napoli fans

Avoid wearing club colours over fears to their safety and liverpool have warned their supporters to stay inside their resorts.
Ahead of the opening Group E battle Napoli on Tuesday, the Reds issued advice only to go to the stadium on designated buses and also to”remain vigilant” in regions away from the city’s interface more than fears of violence from rival supporters.
Many Liverpool fans were treated for stab wounds when they last visited the town throughout the 2010-11 Champions League campaignwhen reports described Reds supporters as being”searched” by Napoli ultras.
The Premier League club have told travelling fans that”before match-day, (they) should stay within their various hotels to eat and drink” and”shouldn’t congregate (on mass) in public places and should avoid becoming isolated”.
They also said:”Supporters are strongly advised to not wear club colours away from the vent area (and) any lovers wishing to visit the inner regions of Naples city ought to stay vigilant and be aware they might be targeted for petty theft, assault and vandalism.”
Supporters also needs to”not create their own approach into the stadium due to threats to their personal security. This is applicable even if your resort is close to the stadium”.
Liverpool fans are advised to congregate no later than 15:30 at the Naples Marine Terminal for shuttle buses to the stadium, the last departing no more than 18:30, and they will be held back within the San Paolo Stadium for a minumum of one hour following the full-time whistle.
