Mansfield picked up their first home win of the League Two campaign.
The home side were far in their best but sealed the win of Matt Preston and also Danny Rose.
The people, who are to have an away point this year, started with Abo Eisa shooting over after 12 seconds. Seven minutes later the same player was booked following diving to attempt to win a penalty.
Following Jordan Clarke gave away the ball scunthorpe goalkeeper Rory Watson beat a long-time Nicky Maynard attempt in the 22nd minute.
Preston slotted home CJ Hamilton’s cross at the back post to provide the lead to Mansfield nine minutes after.
Four minutes nearly levelled when he fired inches wide from a free-kick. Rose doubled the lead nine minutes into the second half.
As Iron didn’t get back in the game proctor headed narrowly off goal in the 74th minute.
