Mansfield picked up their first home win of their League Two effort following a 2-0 victory over rock-bottom Scunthorpe.
The home side were away from their best but sealed the win with goals in either half of Matt Preston and also Danny Rose.
The people, who are to find an off point this season, began confidently with Abo Eisa shooting only over after 12 minutes. Seven minutes later the identical player was booked after diving to try and win a punishment.
Afterwards Jordan Clarke gave the ball away, scunthorpe goalkeeper Rory Watson beat away a Nicky Maynard campaign in the 22nd minute.
Preston slotted home CJ Hamilton’s cross to give Mansfield the lead nine minutes.
Jamie Proctor twenty four minutes after he fired inches wide by a free-kick. However, Rose dropped the lead nine minutes into the second half, after taking advantage of indecision between Watson and Andy Butler.
Proctor headed off goal in the 74th minute as Iron failed to get back in the game.
