Mansfield picked up their first home win of their League Two campaign.
The home side were far in their best but sealed the win from Danny Rose along with Matt Preston.
The visitors, who are to acquire an away point this year, started with Abo Eisa shooting over. Seven minutes after the identical player was booked following diving to attempt and win a penalty.
After Jordan Clarke gave away the ball, scunthorpe goalkeeper Rory Watson overcome a long-time Nicky Maynard effort in the 22nd minute.
Preston slotted home CJ Hamilton’s cross in the back post to give the lead to Mansfield 2 minutes after.
Four minutes nearly twenty before the period after he fired inches wide from a free-kick. After taking advantage of indecision involving Watson along with Andy Butler however, Rose doubled the lead nine minutes into the second half.
Proctor headed off goal from the 74th minute as Iron failed to get back into the game.
