This is an intriguing match for the WBC cruiserweight title that is international of Fabio Turchi. Matchroom Italy and promoters OPI have high hopes to get Turchi.
This new Italian boxing automobile wants a figurehead and with Andrea Scarpa, Devis Boschiero and Emanuele Blandamura all dropping in large fights on such shows a lot depends on Turchi. So hes under a bit of stress and certainly was back in the end of November on the inaugural Matchroom Italy series where he took into the ring following these defeats for Scarpa along with Boschiero.
He needed to triumph against Tony Conquest or the series would have turned into a disaster from a Italian standpoint. And he even has the win before upgrading into this WBC International in his struggle against Sami Enbom, to defend his WBC International Silver title.
He is at 15 using the WBC (that the WBC names empty; it was assumed to be online for Briedis vs Glowacki but in the end was not ). Yves Ngabu is European winner and defends against Lawrence Okolie on October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
McCarthy was a really good international amateur, moving deep in all significant competitions aside from the Olympics (he didnt meet ). And the first phases of his pro career went well. He lost on things and beat the likes of British champ Jon Lewis Dickinson and Courtney Fry. This was in November 2016 and his career completely stagnated after that.
It shouldnt have done since he put up a good performance against Askin however he just couldnt receive any meaningful fights (he did some good sparring though) before he signed up with Mark Dunlop overdue. At the night his sin revealed and he was stopped at four and McCarthy was the favorite although they took the battle with Richard Riakporhe in the beginning of March.
