Formula 2 driver Juan Manuel Correa – injured from the accident that killed French driver Anthoine Hubert – stays in intensive care in an induced coma.
Correa, 20, suffered legs and a spinal injury in Belgium August.
His leg accidents”remain an important issue” and he will undergo surgery when his lungs have been”strong enough”.
Correa’s lungs have”gradually recovered” however, his respiratory roles are still being helped.
The Ecuador-born American suffered complications after the crash and is in a London hospital.
Correa needed a surgery in Liege, however on arrival in London.
“Juan Manuel stays from the Intensive Care Unit at a country of induced coma,” his management company Hurry Tech Development Group said in a statement.
“Even though his lungs have slowly recovered, his lymph acts continue to be aided by ECMO [extracorporeal membrane oxygenation] along with an breathing ventilator.
“Juan Manuel’s leg injuries remain a significant issue and will undergo immediate operation once his lungs are still strong enough to resist the process.”
