The Hundred… you have probably heard it mentioned a lot lately, but do you really know what its all about?
Heres everything you want to learn about the brand new contest of next summer here.
It is all very simple. Its a competition where eight formed teams compete against each other. Each group has a mens and womens sideeffects.
The format of matches? That is simple 100 balls each group, most runs wins.
In an attempt the competition is going to be played in the summer holidays – from 17 July. Teams may play each other once, besides their pairedcompetitions, whom they match two (home and away). There will be 32 league games in total, with the top few finishers competing in the Finals Day (top team mechanically reaches the final, with second versus third for the other place in the final).
The paired competitions (play each other twice) are: Leeds and Manchester, the two London teams, Birmingham and Nottingham and Southampton and Cardiff.
Well understand that.
The mens teams will select at their players by means of a two-stage draft system.
On teams will be able to pick up to 3 players to get their own squad. They have the option of choosing at least one England red-ball contracted player and teams with one or more England Test players within their catchment area will have the ability to select their player. It is not mandatory for groups to choose a player from their catchment region.
The rest red-ball contracted players will be selected by groups until each side without a participant in their region has got the chance of selecting at least one England Test player.
Players will be automatically allocated for their team. Teams have the choice to negotiate with and select two nearbyicon players from within their catchment.
Because of limited accessibility for the England players – they are just expected to play with three group games and in Finals Day – they are in addition to every groups final squad and are paid individually.
The first selection procedure – that the results of which will be shown at 13:00 BST – ought to be interesting. Will, as an Example, the team choose Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes or even Joe Root?
And will the Manchester group, who play at Old Trafford in which theres an ending named after James Anderson, choose Jos Buttler or the England fast bowler?
And, certainly, Southampton will need to take advantage of getting Jofra Archer because their first pick.
On 20 Octoberthe remaining places from the squads will soon be filled with a complete draft – West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, the Steve Smith of Australia and Englands Eoin Morgan have made themselves available for the tournament.
There are seven set salary groups, with up to 2 players # 5 1 125,000, #100,000, #75,000, #60,000, #50,000, #40,000 and #30,000. Captains will receive a bonus of 10,000.
Players can choose a salary band if that reserve price isnt met they wont be selected during the draft that is primary, although at which theyre prepared to play .
The sequence in will be determined by A draw. Teams will have the ability to select a maximum of three foreign players but theres no limitation to the amount of players from country or any other county.
Each one of the planets most important titles – with the exclusion of India internationals that were present – are expected to make them available so brace yourself forJofra Archer versus Steve Smith: Part 2.
Following the draft, each team will have the opportunity for a closingwildcard choice, to be chosen through the next seasons T20 Blast. A # 30,000 contract will be received by that player.
The draft of the women is different. At the first stage, teams will be expected to sign two players in the 21 who are contracted to England.
Stage two of the player selection procedure (1 October 2019 – 30 May 2020) will subsequently see every group fill the remaining 13 spaces in their squad from across three distinct player pools: the rest England centrally contracted players, both global players and national players.
Teams may sign one further player contracted and may sign a max of three players.
The womens seven wages mounts include: # 4,800, # 12,000, # 9,000, # 7,200, # 6,000, # 15,000 and # 3,600. A # 1,200 bonus will be received by the captains.
A brand new tournaments beauty will be that everybody is going to need to work out tactics.
Even the 100 balls can be bowled in blocks of 10 or more five from bowlers, that have the choice of switching finishes halfway.
The maximum number is 20, with each fielding team granted a strategic timeout.
Oh, and therell be a powerplay for the initial 25 balls, where only two fielders will probably be allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
The matches themselves should be furiously and quickly thrilling – in trial matches held past summer, innings took fractionally over one hour to complete.
And just like your own bingewatch, the innings will perform after – therell be no intervals for supper!
