Even the NFL Year kicks off Thursday, September 5 as the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers.

With harbouring Super Bowl ambitions the 2019 effort promises to be exciting and wide open.
Listed below are six important talking points and things to keep an eye out for in the upcoming year…
Everybody keeps searching for the downturn. There’s been plenty of change during the offseason the retirement of superstar end Rob Gronkowski.
But as long as quarterback Tom Brady has been hold Father Time at bay and head coach Bill Belichick is in charge, the Patriots always have a chance to win everything. That pairing has produced six Super Bowl victories and also this group understands what is needed to win.The loss of heart David Andrews for the year to blood clots will really hurt, but the chances will be New England will be in the mix once again at 2019.
Four-time Pro Bowl all-star Andrew Luck stunned the football world – and his group – by retiring prior to the first Sunday of the campaign.
Luck was. But a plague of injuries in the past times wore down him and walked out from a team which made the playoffs.
The Colts finally turn into Jacoby Brissett, who is 5-12 as an NFL starter. Head coach Frank Reich considers that the Colts have been”in good hands” using Brissett at the helm and general manager Chris Ballard hailed him as a”rare, infrequent human being.” If Brissett will maintain quarterback play to support what has come to be a strong roster, only time will tell.
The Cleveland Browns have been the punchline of an NFL joke with their stadium being called’Sadness’ Factory.’ The Browns have not enjoyed a winning season since 2007 and have not made the playoffs since 2002. However, after going winless in 2017, the long-downtrodden Browns showed indications of life by winning seven games under rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield in 2018.
Even the addition of superstar receiver Odell Beckham Jr has Cleveland’s enthusiastic lovers. Succeed or fail, the Browns are going to be one of the biggest stories of the 2019 year old. On paperthey have the talent however, the handling of expectations will be crucial this term.
Every NFL offseason sees notable players move groups but 2019 was off the charts in terms of big-name transactions.
The Pittsburgh Steelers operating back Le’Veon Bell, who inked a deal, and top company in recipient Antonio Brown, who joined with the Oakland Raiders with superstars. Will those stars fare in brand new surroundings and can the Steelers live with them?
Super Bowl-winning quarterback Nick Foles has proceeded out of the Philadelphia Eagles into the Jacksonville Jaguars, although the aforementioned Odell Beckham Jr. has been traded in the New York Giants into the Cleveland Browns in a magnificent offseason.
There were moves as offensive attack Laremy Tunsil transferred from Miami to Houston, while the Texans shipped star defender Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle being made late in the preseason.
The most exciting player in the NFL today remains Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Even the 2018 NFL Most Valuable Player is going to be eager to show the world his first complete season as a rookie was no fluke. Term threw and we expect the repeat performance.
Mahomes is special and will do everything. Guided by head coach Andy Reid’s fantastic play-calling, one year ago, after falling at the Super Bowl stage, Mahomes and the volatile Chiefs will look to go 1 step farther in 2019.
Whether the team makes it all the way into the Super Bowl remains to be seen, however it’s a safe bet to assume Mahomes is going to be box office every weekend.
Before last because events go fast in the NFL and star running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Melvin Gordon might have finished their holdouts from the time you read this 35, I’ve abandoned this one. For now both rushers seem dug in and far from close to long-term deals with the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers respectively.
Elliott has a situation to develop into the highest-paid running back in the NFL given he has 101.2 rushing yards per game since entering the league in 2016. However, Dallas watched the Los Angeles Rams throw money at Todd Gurley only to watch him develop a knee injury that was stressing. So they’re being cautious.
The Chargers have advised Gordon no contract expansion will occur between now and the season’s end. The player – who is a celebrity but not at Elliott’s match – needs a trade. He sit out the year to force a much better thing that is long-term and could follow the example of Bell from 2018. Watch this space.
