In earlier version Latvian citizenship was granted to anybody who had lived in Latvia for 20 years before the August 1, 1914 (begin of the WWI). Now this was shortened to six months before the August 1, 1914. This was mainly done to permit many Latvian farming colonists, who now were fleeing Soviet Russia, to obtain citizenship.
